Jack Poynor and three other partners from Odessa, Texas started PEMCO of New Mexico in 1965. Two years later Jack and his wife Sylvia, became the sole owners. Jack's son-in-law, Garry Buie, became a partner in 1979. After the passing of Jack in 2006, Garry and his wife Cynthia, became sole owners. Under Jack's watchful eye, Garry learned all of the aspects of the business which prepared him to become the President and CEO. Cynthia, Jack's daughter, learned all of the financial aspects of the company and became the Vice President and CFO.
Garry and Cynthia enjoy owning their own business in Lea County because of the people that they work with on a daily basis, whether they are their employees or their customers. The employees are considered as family members and are treated as such with respect and appreciation every day. PEMCO has good customers who continue to give us the opportunity to provide them the best service that we possibly can. The local suppliers have supported PEMCO through the good times and the tough times in the oilfield.
PEMCO is an oilfield repair and manufacturing firm, which refurbish and re-manufacture oilwell servicing equipment. We have diversified our business by developing a working relationship with the wind generator industry and nuclear enrichment industry. In so doing, PEMCO has expanded the machine shop and cut shop capabilities by purchasing new CNCmill, CNC lathes and CNC plasma and torch cut machines. PEMCO reverse engineers obsolete rig parts and provide CAD services for customers requesting design and manufacturing of prototype parts and assemblies to possibly patent or to solve a pressing need.
Garry, Cynthia and the PEMCO employees appreciate our customers who continually support us through the boom and bust years of the petroleum industry. We strive to show our appreciation by doing our very best on every job for each customer.
